Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, the Chairman Governing body of UCMS is a Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. Prof. Verma was Dean of Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi which is declared a ‘Centre of Excellence’ and is the best ranked Dental Institution set up by him. He is also a Chairman of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers.

For the distinguished services to the profession, Dr. Mahesh Verma has been conferred Dr. B.C. Roy Award in 2007, Padma Shri in 2014 as well as Science & Technology Award in 2020 by the President of India. Dr. Verma is also a recipient of State Award by Govt. of Delhi as well as the only Indian professional conferred with the Honorary Membership of American Dental Association (ADA) and British Dental Association (BDA).

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (England), Royal College of Surgeons & Physicians (Glasgow) and Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) besides holding offices of high esteem in several professional bodies.

Dr. Verma is the first Indian to be elected as Member Science Committee of Federation Dentare International (Geneva), world's apex policy body of 200 dental organizations.

As Principal Investigator at Council of Scientific & Industrial Research,Dr. Verma developed India First low cost Indigenous Dental Implant patented in India and US, made rehabilitation affordable for masses.
