The services provided by the Department encompass a plethora of dental treatment modalities such as endodontic therapy, major and minor oral surgical procedures apart from the routine day to day services like tooth extractions, intra-oral radiography, scaling and oral prophylaxis. The department is collaborating with other specialties in providing interdisciplinary patient care such as immediate prophylaxis and treatment for oncology patients, molds for cases undergoing vaginoplasty in the Obs & Gynea department and providing temporary obturators for patients from the Otorhinolaryngology Department. Treatment is provided to senior citizen, Mandoli jail inmates and children of Sanskar Ashram on priority basis. Post graduate program is running in speciality of pediatric & preventive dentistry.

The order of designation is as follows : HOD, Director Professor, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor.
The names with in each designation is in alphabetical order and not in order of seniority.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

1. GENERAL DENTISTRY


• Diagnosis of various dental diseases with Intra-oral radiography and pain alleviation.
• Major and minor oral surgical procedures including exodontia.
• Restorative, endodontic therapy and Oral rehabilitation of functional occlusion.
• Management of routine gingival and periodontal diseases.
• Rehabilitative care & Interdisciplinary patient care for oncology, Gynecology, ENT and anesthesia patients.
• Special emphasis for geriatric care
• Community outreach activities: Mandoli Jail inmates and under privileged population of the district.



2. PEDIATRIC & PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY



The unit is running three year Post graduate program in the specialty of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry with annual intake of 2 PG students.

• Comprehensive oral health care and monitoring of dentition from infancy to childhood.
• Provides Preventive Care: Management of Early Childhood Caries, fluoride application sealants, Oral Prophylaxis and Space-maintenance appliances.
• Restorative & Endodontic procedures for Pediatric patients.
• Exodontia, Minor surgical procedures and management of Dental trauma in children.
• Effective management of uncooperative children employing latest techniques.
• Rehabilitation of severely damaged primary dentition with SSC& zirconia crowns.
• Management of young children with special health care needs under general anesthesia
• Special emphasis on management of children with hemophilia, thalassemia and other syndromic associations.
• School Dental Health Programs for creating awareness about common oral health problems in children and their prevention.



3. ORTHODONTICS & DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS



The unit is providing Orthodontic specialty treatment with focus of delivering optimal patient care with special emphasis on dental research.

• Monitoring of tooth eruption pattern & prevention of deleterious oral habits with habit breaking appliances.
• Interception of developing jaw discrepancies with myofunctional & orthopedic appliances.
• Correction of malaligned teeth, mandibular prognathism/retrognathism, maxillary hypoplasia/hyperplasia, facial asymmetries, using orthodontic braces.
• Surgical management of complex cases i.e. multiple impacted teeth, severe jaw discrepancies.
• Temporomandibular joint related disorders management using advanced techniques of joint deprogrammers & occlusal splints.
• Multidisciplinary approach in management of craniofacial anomalies i.e. cleft lip and palate and other syndromic association.
