I am presently
working in the capacity of Director Professor in department of Surgery
at University College of Medical Sciences and associated Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Dilshad
Garden, Shahadra, Delhi – 110095.
I graduated from Maulana Azad Medical college, New Delhi and did my post graduation from LLRM Medical College, Meerut,
UP. Following this I joined
Department of Surgery, Maulana Azad Medical
College and associated LNJPN Hospital, New Delhi in the capacity of
Senior Resident.
I became a Pool Officer in
the department of Cancer Surgery, Safdarjang
Hospital, New Delhi and after completion of
the tenure got appointed to the post of Reader, Dept. of Surgery, MGIMS
and Kasturba Hospital, Sewagram, Wardha,
Maharashtra. I soon after was
selected through UPSC, Delhi to the post of Assistant Professor (Teaching
Sub-cadre) and was posted to Department of Surgery, JIPMER, Pondicherry.
From there I was transferred to University college of Medical
Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital,
Delhi by CHS, Nirman Bhawan
and where I joined as an Assistant Professor in Surgery.
In subsequent years I was
regularly promoted and became Professor of Surgery In May 2001. On 29th September 2008 I
was promoted to Be a Director Professor of Surgery and I am serving the
Institution in this capacity till date.
I am a recognized PG
Supervisor and teacher designated by the University of Delhi. I have
been supervising PG Students in their thesis pertaining to various
topics in general surgery, till today. I have attended international
and National Conferences and presented many papers on Podium and as
Posters.
I have 104 publications to my
credit and majority of them in recognized International and National
Journals. In addition I have written 5 chapters in the books. I have
been given awards by few corporate sectors and voluntary social service
groups.
I have held the post of
Medical Superintendent, GTB Hospital, for Surgery and Surgical Allied
Departments.
Recently in June 2021, I have
been appointed by the Vice Chancellor as Head, Department of Surgery, University of Delhi.
I have served the institution
through many allocated administrative duties and have served the
patients attending the Hospital.
I have given guest lectures, and chaired many sessions in
surgical conferences and meetings.
I shall soon be
superannuating from the Central Health Services of the Ministry of
Health and Family Welfare, Government of India after March 2022.
