 I joined
UCMS in 1987 after doing Senior Residency from AIIMS New Delhi and
PGIMER, Chandigarh. At the time of joining, UCMS & GTBH Complex was
at a very early stage of development with only OPD services running. I
had the opportunity to contribute to setting up of Gastrointestinal and
Urological Endoscopy facilities of the Department of Surgery. I have
been re-employed in the Dept of Surgery wef 01.07.2021.
I have also been a
recipient of World Health Organization Fellowship wherein I received
training in endourology at Vienna, Austria.
Subsequently, our department has made a name for itself in the
management of urolithiasis by minimally invasive methods.
I have had the opportunity
to assist various academic and government organizations including
AIIMS, BHU, AMU, UGC, NBE, MCI, FICCI, DGHS, ICMR, ESIC and MOH&FW
in various assignments.
I have regularly
contributed to scientific activities of Association of Surgeons of
India, MAMC & LHMC Surgery Update. I have delivered the prestigious
S.K. Sen Memorial Oration of the Delhi State Chapter of Association of
Surgeons of India.
I have 56 academic
publications, supervisorship/ co-supervisorship of more than 40 PG and PhD thesis,
and six book chapters to my credit.
Teaching, endourology and contribution to various
administrative activities are my special areas of interest.
