 I was appointed as a Professor (CAS-Direct) in
Surgery at University College of Medical Sciences (University of Delhi)
and GTB Hospital, Delhi. Currently I am honored
to have the privilege of serving as Chair & Head of the Department
of Surgery. My core areas of
interest include Urology, Genitourinary surgery, Uro-Oncology,
Endourology, Minimally Invasive Surgery &
Robotics. I completed my PG-Residency in 1992 & Sr.Residency
in 1995 from MAM College, DU and since then have been working as a
faculty member for the last 26 years. I was awarded Dr OP Taneja Memorial Prize Gold Medal (Hons-Surgery) for
being best student in MBBS Surgery in 1987 by MAM College. In 2002 I
obtained M.Ch(Urology) & D.N.B(Genito-Urinary Surgery) from AIIMS, New Delhi. I am
recipient of Dr HL Bhat Gold Medal (Urology) awarded by His Excellency
the Hon’ble President of India at the Annual Convocation of the Board
held at Kochi in 2003 by the NMB for scoring the highest marks in
Genitourinary Surgery(DNB). In 2008-2009, I held the clinical
assignment of fellowship (Instructor) in Endourology,
Min Inv Surg &
Robotics in Wake Forest University Medical School, NC, USA. I have over
140 publications to my credit in several indexed national/
international high citation journals of Urology & Surgery. I had
the privilege of writing a book chapter on ‘Obstructive Uropathy as the first Author in the prestigious Campbell’s
Urology (Bible of Urology). I have authored a Text Book entitled
“Manual of MCQs & Images in Urology” in addition to other book
chapters, presented several research papers at National/ International
conferences in India/abroad, delivered guest lectures, CMEs and chaired
sessions at several conferences.
Last
but not the least I owe my present humble existence to my wonderful
highly skilled dedicated professional teachers, surgical masters &
pioneers like Dr AK Hemal, Dr NP Gupta &
Dr RCM Kaza and many others who guided and
motivated me in my professional journey from past to present. The above

tirelessly day & night in the shadows assisting me in patient care
& discharging my professional responsibilities.
