 Graduate
(MBBS) and post-graduate(MS, Surgery) from All
India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi. Joined UCMS in
1988 as a faculty member in the department of surgery and retired as
Director-Professor in April 2020. As per the provisions of the
University of Delhi, reemployed, for another period of 3 years, as
Director-Professor of Surgery.
With a commitment to
undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, have retained the knowledge
and surgical skills encompassing all aspects of general surgery,
including trauma, gastro-intestinal surgery, urological diseases, minimal
access surgery and cancer surgery. This could be accomplished by
allocating and encouraging thesis topics on a vast spectrum of general
surgery.
Have ensured and imparted
to medical students the art of making a clinical diagnosis,
demonstrating to them, both in the out-patient department and the
emergency, how an accurate clinical diagnosis can almost always be made
without the help of any investigations. Also, emphasized the need for a
dedicated follow- up of all the patients which they see and treat, by
ensuring and running a well organized
follow-up clinic, to be attended by the entire team.
