Dr Kalpana
Kumari did MD and senior residency from All
India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Thereafter, worked as
senior research associate under guidance of Dr A K Dinda
and Dr Geetika Singh in renal pathology. She
worked in Neuropathology as part of thesis work on subependymal
giant cell astrocytoma and focal cortical dysplasia under guidance of
Dr M C Sharma, Dr Chitra Sarkar and Dr Vaishali Suri. Work was awarded Neurology India
Award and Award for best Paper in Epilepsy in year 2017. During senior
residency worked on molecular characterization of IDH wild type diffuse
astrocytomas: potential of the cIMPACT-NOW guidelines and implemented the
algorithmic workup and guidelines in routine neuropathology reporting
system in the department. This piece of work was awarded DR. H. D.
TANDON AWARD for presenting best poster. Working as a senior research
associate in Department of Pathology, she participated in research
project entitled “The study on role of glomerular endothelial injury as
a target of immune response in T-cell mediated renal transplant
rejection”. During course of 3 years of training got skilled in
electron microscopic studies in medical and transplant renal biopsies.
She has published 27 research papers in various international and
national pubmed indexed journals. Presently,
she got selected as Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, UCMS
& GTB hospital and looking forward for many more promising research
opportunities.
