Dr Sumaira
Khalil, is currently working as Assistant Professor, in Department of Paediatrics,
University College of Medical Sciences, since February 2021. She did
her MBBS from Santosh Medical College and DNB (Paediatrics) from University
College of Medical Sciences & GTB Hospital. Following this she did
her senior residency from PGIMER & Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for a period of 3 years. Earlier she
worked as Assistant Professor in Hamdard
Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and Maulana
Azad Medical College. Subsequently, she joined VMMC & Safdarjung hospital as a specialist where she
managed the Paediatric cardiology clinic and was instrumental in managing
the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. She has 10 years teaching and
research experience after post-graduation and has numerous publications
in National & International journals and author of several chapters
in numerous books. She has a keen interest in Paediatric Cardiology,
Medical education, teaching and research. She is an active Executive
Member of Journal Committee and Guest editor of Indian Paediatrics, official publication of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics
(IAP), and reviewer of many articles
of paediatric journals. She is a national trainer for “Mission School Uday” which is a part of President’s Action Plan
2021 under Indian Academy of Paediatrics. She has contributed in Early
Child Development module resource material development workshop which
is within the framework of existing WHO/UNICEF nurturing care modules.
