I completed my MD Pediatrics
from the prestigious Banaras Hindu University in the year 2001 and
since then have worked at various institutes. While working at SGPGI
Lucknow, I developed a keen interest in pediatric critical care. In the
year 2010, I got the opportunity to be associated with INDO US
Emergency and Trauma Collaborative, and realized the pressing need of
Pediatric Emergency Medicine in the country. I completed my fellowship of Academic
College of Emergency Experts (ACEE) in India in Pediatric Emergency
Medicine in the year 2014 and since then have been actively involved
with the fellowship program, initially as national coordinator and now
as course co-director.
I have always had an interest in medical
education and have tried to strengthen my capabilities in the art of
teaching skills. I have published more than 70 papers in esteemed
international and national journals and several chapters in reputed
books. I was awarded the Dr Kelly P
O’ Keefe Academician and Researcher award of the year by INDUS EM
Award 2017 at World Academic Congress of Emergency Medicine, Columbo and the James Flett
award for best research paper in PEDICON 2017. I have been
mentoring several postgraduates for their thesis work and
undergraduates for their short-term research projects. I am associate
editor of Postgraduate Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, a
new venture of Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
My vision is to bring
critical care and emergency department on same floor and to improve the
survival of critically sick children by providing them effective
comprehensive care.
