Dr. Pooja Dewan is working
as Professor of Pediatrics at UCMS. She is an alumnus of MAMC, Delhi,
and UCMS, Delhi, two of the most prestigious medical colleges in India.
She has over 15 years of teaching experience in Pediatrics as faculty.
Her research areas include Pediatric HIV, Pediatric hemato-oncology
and Bioethics. She has over 100 research publications in reputed
journals and has authored over 40 chapters. She has received the RCPCH
Visiting Fellowship (2014) and the Fellowship of the Indian Academy of
Pediatrics (2016). She has also received the national awards instituted
by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics on multiple occasions for
outstanding research presentation; SS Manchanda
Award (2015) for best research in Neonataology,
James Flett Endowment Award (2011, 2014) for best research in Social
and Preventive Pediatrics, and VB Raju Award (2013) for
best research in Child Health. She has also received the Sarla Vaishnava Award (2008) for best research (first
prize) in Metabolic Diseases. She has served as the member-secretary of the Institutional
Ethics Committee for Human Research of UCMS from 2016-2020. She has
served on the editorial board of the Indian Pediatrics, Official
Journal of the IAP and has rendered her services as Associate Editor
for over 7 years.
