Dr. Siddharth
Madan pursued his MBBS from MAMC, New Delhi and completed his M.S in
Ophthalmology in July 2015 from LHMC, New Delhi. He cleared DNB
Ophthalmology in 2016. He is a Fellow of International council of
Ophthalmology and a Fellow of All India Collegium of Ophthalmology in
retina and vitreous sub-specialty. He is a member of National Academy
of Medical Sciences. He joined as a research officer in the Community
Ophthalmology department at AIIMS, New Delhi where he received
certification and training to conduct the first blindness survey as a
team leader in UP under the Rapid assessment of avoidable blindness
(RAAB-6) India ICMR project. He gained undergraduate and post-graduate
teaching and research experience for over three years as a senior
resident in PGI, Chandigarh and LHMC, New Delhi. During this time he
also successfully completed the penetrating keratoplasty
course at AIIMS, New Delhi. He joined as a senior research associate at
LHMC for one year and pursued a project on genetics in glaucoma under
CSIR, New Delhi. During this time he was actively involved in teaching
activities of the undergraduates and post-graduates. He joined as an
Assistant Professor on contract basis at LHMC and was also the UG
teaching in-charge for over one year. He has been a guest speaker,
faculty in various conferences at National and international forums and
received international travel awards to present research work and also
been awarded first and second prize for presenting his original
research work on glaucoma and also on neuro-ophthalmology respectively.
His key area of interest includes retina, retinopathy of prematurity, pediatric ophthalmology and cataract and refractive
surgery. He has presented over 10 oral papers, 11 physical posters, 13
e-posters as a presenting author in national and international
conferences. He has 46 publications to his name in indexed and peer
reviewed journals. He is reviewer of multiple indexed and peer reviewed
national and international journals.
