Dr. (Mrs.) Archana Singal

Archana Singal (MD, FAMS) is currently working as a Director Professor and Officiating Head, in the department of Dermatology & STD, University College of Medical Sciences. She is an alumnus of Medical College Rohtak, Haryana for both her MBBS and MD (DVL). She has over 30-years of post MD experience and has been a teaching faculty for 25 years and recognized supervisor for MD and PhD. She has been head of the department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi during 2007-10, 2013-2016, 2019-2022 and adjunct Professor at Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal (India)2019-2021.

Her chief areas of interest include Tropical Dermatology (Chiefly Cutaneous TB, Leprosy and Mycoses), Nail disorders and Genodermatoses. She has published extensively and has to her credit, over 250 scientific publications and 45 chapters, in different standard textbooks. She is the chief editor for the books, ‘Comprehensive Approach to Infections In Dermatology’, ‘Comprehensive Approach to Nail Disorders’, ‘Atlas of Infections in Dermatology’, and ‘Superficial Dermatophytosis’.

She has been the Scientific Chairperson for a very unique and innovative multi-specialty annual conference ‘Dermatology & Allied Speciality Summit (DAAS)’ from 2014 till date that holds a special place in the academic calendar of every dermatologist. She is the Founding President of the Nail Society of India (NSI) (2012-2020). She has been the organizing President for Annual ONYCHOCONs (National Conference of Nail Society of India) in 2013 and 2020, and 3^rd International Summit on Nail Diseases (ISND) at Delhi in 2015. She has also served IADVL in various positions including President IADVL Delhi state Branch (2009) Special Interest Group (SIG)-Genodermatoses, Tropical Dermatology and ITATSA. She has served in the Editorial capacity for various peer-reviewed journals including J Cut Aesthetic Surg, Indian Dermatol Online J (IDOJ) and IJDVL (Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology). She is recipient of many awards and Orations and is a regular invited speaker at National and International conferences. At present, she is also the Staff Cultural advisor for UCMS.
