Dr.
Aparna Kapoor, recipient of Gold Medal in Community
Medicine, owing of her Passion to work in Community ever since her
graduation years, grabbed the
opportunity of working as Community Obstetrician without hesitation. Her
aim is to deliver Community based primary health care and counseling services thus offering better quality
care at the grass root level.
She coordinates with ASHAs, AWWs and ANMs to provide suitable
referral Linkage for eligible pregnant women and children of the marginalized,
underserved population in the catchment area of the Urban and Rural Health
Training Centres run by the Department.
Dr.
Aparna is involved in Training of Undergraduates, Interns, Postgraduates,
Senior Residents and Nursing students at the Community Level. Under her
supervision, Health Talk Sessions, Role Plays, Demonstrations, Skits,
Group Discussions and FGDs are conducted at the Health Centres on
regular basis which serve the dual purpose of Teaching and Training the
trainees as well as spreading Health awareness in the Community.
To improvise upon the
Community working skills, she has been officially trained in
Immunization by Integrated District Health Society, GNCT, Delhi and in Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)
by Health and Family Welfare Training Centre, Delhi.
Holding administrative
responsibilities, she guides the staff including Health Inspectors,
MSW, Health Educator, Dietician, Lab Technician, Pharmacist, and ANMs
posted at the UHTC and RHTC in effectively providing services of all
National Programmes at the Community Level. Besides, she is also the
NODAL OFFICER for UCMS for the PULSE POLIO immunization Campaign
established by Government of India.
Her primary mission is
"providing quality, compassionate primary medical care and social
services to those who need it most."
