Dr Pragti
Chhabra MD joined the Department of Community
Medicine in 1994 as a faculty. She is presently working as Director
Professor since 2008. She has more than 30 years of experience as a teacher,
trainer and public health professional. She is a graduate of Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi (University of
Delhi) and post graduate of Maulana Azad
Medical College, New Delhi (University of Delhi).
Her areas of special interest
are Maternal Health, Child Health, Woman’s Health, Immunization,
Nutrition, Epidemiology of Non Communicable Diseases
She has more than 68 publications
in peer reviewed National and International scientific journals,
several book chapters in various Text books of Community Medicine and
modules for distant learning courses. She has guided 22 MD and DNB
theses and several ICMR funded students’ projects. Has been the Principal
Investigator and Co investigator for various funded projects and other projects.
Dr Chhabra is reviewer for various
reputed National and International journals and Expert for review of
ICMR funded projects on maternal, reproductive and woman’s Health. Was
a member of the Expert Group for National Certification Committee for
Polio Eradication for Field Visit for the state of Madhya Pradesh 2013 and
Monitor for the Coverage Evaluation Survey 2018 organized by UNICEF and
National Institute of Health and Family Welfare.
She has organized Conferences
and training programmes and is a resource person for training in Infant
and Young Child Feeding, Nutrition, IMNCI, Poliomyelitis and National
Programmes etc for Doctors, health workers
and ICDS staff.
She
is the Chairperson, Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN)
committee of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine and Fellow,
Indian Public Health Association.
