Rafat
Sultana Ahmed, is a Ph.D in
Biochemistry from Marathwada University, Aurangabad(Maharashtra).She
is a recipient of National Merit Scholarship throughout University career
and was awarded JRF and SRF by council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt of India. She joined this college in 1994 as
lecturer and is presently Director Professor in Dept. of Biochemistry
and is involved in Teaching, Research and as Faculty Incharge of Clinical Biochemistry and Emergency
Laboratories, GTBH. Her major are of interest are cellular and
molecular aspects of pesticide toxicity and its alteration by natural
plant products, role of free radicals and oxidative stress in human health
and disease, use of alternative medicines in Rheumatoid Arthritis. She
has been awarded and completed around 12 research projects as
Principal/ Co Investigator from various funding agencies such as DBT,ICMR, AYUSH and guided several Ph.D. and M.D.
students as Supervisor/ Cosupervisor , and
has more than a hundred research publications in national and
international journals of repute and more than Eighty Abstracts of
papers presented at National/International Conferences.
