The department is equipped with an
air conditioned dissection hall, a histology lab and enough facilities for
self-study besides a highly qualified faculty to guide the
students. An ultramodern
histology laboratory with projection facilities is also present in the
Department.
Laboratories equipped for research
in neuroanatomy, osteology, histology, gross anatomy and anthropometry
are available for faculty and postgraduate students for conducting
research.
The Department participates in
teaching of MBBS, MD Anatomy, B.Sc. Physiotherapy, B.Sc.(Nursing),
B.Sc. (Radiography), Medical Lab. Technology (one-year in-service
course), and Laboratory Attendant’s training (six-week in-service
course). The Department offers assistance to other departments e.g.
Neurosurgery and ENT, in conducting CME from time to time. Major thrust
area of research is in Gross Anatomy of all the regions of human
body.
The department has fully renovated
Museum and Demonstration rooms for enhancing learning of the students
in congenial environment. The histology preparation room and research
lab have been renovated for the use by the postgraduate students.
The
department is also an active collaborator and organizer of various
cadaveric workshops for post-graduate training and skills
training in surgical and allied disciplines. Citizens of India donate
their bodies to Deh Daan Samiti. The department accepts the donated bodies
from this organization for teaching the undergraduate medical students
