Satendra Singh, MD is a
Professor of Physiology at the University College of Medical Sciences
& GTB Hospital, Delhi. He is a Bucksbaum
International Scholar and visiting scholar at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the
University of Chicago. He is a disability justice advocate who has
brought many policy reforms including the inclusion of disability
competencies in the new medical curriculum in India. He is the first
Indian to receive the prestigious Henry Viscardi
Achievement Award given to disability leaders and was awarded the
National Award in 2021 by the Honourable President of India for making
elections in India disabled-friendly. He is a Co-Chair of the
International Council for Disability Inclusion in Medical Education
& the founder of the Health Humanities Group at his
institution.
