Dr. S.V. Madhu is currently working as Director Professor& Head, Dept.
Of Endocrinology & In-Charge Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism.
He obtained his MD in
Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College,
Delhi and has been trained in Diabetes & Endocrinology initially as
a WHO fellow at Joslin Diabetes
Centre and Cleveland clinic, USA and later from AIIMS, New Delhi where he did
his D.M. in Endocrinology.
He has been a medical
teacher for more than 30
years during which period he has also been actively involved in endocrine research &
care. He has established specialized
diabetes and endocrinology services at this institution since 2008 and
has been instrumental in the setting up of a superspeciality,
state of the art Centre for Diabetes Endocrinology & Metabolism.
He is faculty in charge Academic Activities and has
been member of the Research Projects Advisory Committee and Research
cell.
He serves as Editor in Chief of Indian Journal of Endocrinology
and Metabolism (IJEM)
& International Journal of Diabetes of Developing Countries (IJDDC) and has been the President of Endocrine Society of India and Research Society for the Study of
Diabetes in India .
He has received several awards, Orations and
Fellowships including RSSDI Distinguished Service award and Delhi
State Award among others and has contributed extensively to
medical research with over 200
National & International Publications in Diabetes & other
related areas of Endocrinology,
over 25 chapters in books and over 20 funded research projects
from ICMR, DBT and RSSDI.
