Dr. Rahul Sharma MD is currently a
Professor of Community Medicine in UCMS and GTB hospital, Delhi. He joined
University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in December 2009 as a
faculty member. He completed his MBBS and then specialization as MD
(Community Medicine) both from the University College of Medical
Sciences, Delhi. He thereafter did his Senior Residency at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi.
During
his post graduation, he received the Late Dr Kusum Pandit Award for
best post graduate thesis in the college (UCMS) for the year. He has
also been the recipient of Ford Foundation - IAPSM Epidemiological
Research Grant for carrying out an epidemiological research project. He
has actively been involved in conducting community based research as
well as guiding and encouraging research activities by undergraduate
and postgraduate students. He has authored research papers in various
peer reviewed journals on varied topics in the subject.
He has
been a resource faculty for an innovative multi
disciplinary teaching learning module on injury prevention and
control, organized each year for MBBS students by the Medical Education
Unit of the UCMS college, Delhi. Dr. Sharma
has also been involved as a resource person in teaching of non-medical
or para-medical personnel such as students of
Diploma in Prehospital Trauma Technician course, students of Diploma in
Physical Rehabilitation course, and CDPOs and Supervisors of ICDS
projects. He has been a resource faculty in state level workshops
organized by Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
He has
also been enthusiastically and actively involved in extracurricular
events such as the annual college cultural festivals, winning certificates
at different occasions over the years for GK quiz competitions and
faculty sports events.
